The “Doctor Killer” got it’s reputation from being too much aircraft for an amateur pilot. The V-35 Bonanza is called the Fork-Tailed Doctor Killer. Much much faster than what these hobbyist pilots are used to. And for the decade following its release, successful businessmen and professionals were buying the Bonanza in great numbers. While the Beechcraft Bonanza has a loyal following, it also has an infamous moniker: The Doctor Killer. There are a few airplanes like this.

In fact, that spate of accidents was part of the reason for the creation of the Beechcraft Pilot Proficiency Program (BPPP) in 1983 by the American Bonanza Society. The Bonanza series is collectively referred to as the Doctor Killer. Probably the most common nickname the Bonanza V-tail is known for is being the “doctor killer.” When the Bonanza was first introduced, it was unlike anything anyone has ever seen in the general aviation market. This causes "the plane to get in front of them", and for them to crash. It is currently still in production by Hawker Beechcraft.

The Beechcraft Bonanza is a radical design, low-wing, fixed landing gear aircraft with a signature V-tail introduced in 1947 by the Beech Aircraft Corporation of Wichita, Kansas.
