Heavy D was born on May 24, 1967 in Mandeville, Jamaica as Dwight Arrington Myers. Both of Xea's parents were raising her, and she now lives with her mother in Los Angeles, California. He took off eight years from his career to raise his daughter Xea. Heavy D & the Boyz were the first group signed to Uptown Records, with Heavy D as the frontman and only rapper. Heavy D has been described as an incredible father by his parents. The other two members, T-Roy and G-Wiz were the dancers.
He is known for his work on Big Trouble (2002), The Cider House Rules (1999) and Life (1999). Their debut, Living Large, was released in 1987. He died on November 8, 2011 in Los Angeles, California, USA. Heavy's brother Floyd has filed court docs seeking control of Heavy's estate -- via an old will that earmarks nothing for D's 13-year-old daughter, parents or other siblings. Eddie F was his business partner in the group, DJ, and one of the producers. This was the first time he had left his little girl for such a long time since her birth.
